Context:
Usually, when anyone saves into the group, everyone gets notified via push that a user has saved into the group. This became a problem when groups became larger. A user would get multiple notifications that may trigger them to leave the group. The goal then became how to keep notifications on to urge people to save more, but streamline it only to relevant ones.
Decision:
Based on deliberations with the product and engineering team, we decided to send dynamic notifications to group members when they hit specific milestones in the group. Once you hit this milestone, you get a notification that either celebrates your achievements or encourages you to do better.
Process:
This was an interesting one as I had to understand the audience and the possible circumstances that may propel them to hit these milestones. It was a short project but I enjoyed creating these personalities and choosing words to suit them.
Another complex part was having to say so much with very few words. I had this specific word limit to stick with. 👇🏽

I broke down the copy into two different sections: Those who reached a higher milestone and those who went lower. This helped me focus.
